And Now for Something Completely Different!

GLaDOS's Lament will not continue until the New Year. Instead, here's a poem of the rhyming sort.

The Ancient Hall
By Reogan

The ancient hall has long stood tall
A tomb of evils vast,
And not one breath disturbs their death
Since times long in the past.

I came from where the lands are fair
with fertile fields to sow
And yet, of late, I sit and wait
though still I've far to go.

So when I came, quite tired, near lame
I straight went for a drink
the tavern wench, who served my bench
said things to make me think.

An ancient tomb, of ancient doom
with treasure stashed below
With not a ward, or rotten board
or treasure traps, or foe.

A mere day's ride, I was inside
and stepped through yawning gate
And I supposed, when the gate closed
Twas just the wind- not fate.

Surprised was I, for twas no lie
that e'en beasts feared the crypt.
The air was clear, I felt no fear
for I was young and fit.

The tomb's deep rest was, to my quest
quite useless, merely a joke.
And so I smashed, and so they crashed
Sarcophagi all broke.

Amidst the dust, of coffins bust
I found a shining seam.
And at great length, expense of strength
the door revealed a gleam.

Down winding stair, soon I was there
and looked upon the hoard
with this, I thought, all could be bought
All joys I can afford.

There was no fear with Treasure near
Where jewels and gems abound
Twere just my need, my boundless greed
And one faint scratching sound.

It was not loud, and yet a shroud,
a pall, fell on the place.
The dust of stone, a gleam of bone
And terror on my face.

The rhythmic sound from all around
had risen to a shriek.
Through stone they rent, with one intent
A future grim and bleak.

And so I die, and now I lie
The fear still on my face.
And not one breath, disturbs my death
As guardian of this place.

Nice, epic, impressive, you wrote this? Good stuff, and a nice interlude from GLaDOS' lament.

Reogan said...

Yes, I wrote it. I don't plagirize. Thank you for your compliments, and GLaDOS's Lament will continue soon.

From the great game of Portal, credit song by Jonathan Coultan, Still Alive (sorry if I spelled coulton wrong)

Your spelling leaves little to be desired for once Meta Knight.

Micro- A question mark (?) is used to indicate a question in English, rather than an exclamation point (!) as I'm sure you must use in your tongue. Secondly the rule for exclamation points (!) is less is more. Your writing reminds me of Meta Knights earlier writing (Now much improved. Of course, practice makes perfect, so don't let me scare you away.

Met- Accurate!

Great poem Reogan! You have some great talent at that and it makes the blog much better.

Reogan said...

Much better than what? Better than all that is pleasing on the face of the earth? Yeah, I know.

Reogan said...

Oh, and thanks =)

Micro said...

Im not saying your blog is bad!!! Im just saying that it helps it flow smoothly.

Reogan said...

That it does, that it does.

This blog runs strangely, I would call it more of a Reogan fan site. Not that I don't like the poem or anything.

Met said...

I hope you're deluding yourself. For your sake, my sake, and reogan's sake.

Reogan said...

Though that is an interesting idea. A Reogan fansite... I may have to get to work on that =)

Elphaba said...

Oh. My. Gosh. There is SERIOUSLY no justice in the world! That poem also was amazing!
I'm jealous...

Reogan said...

Each comment increases the need for a Reogan fan site!

Elphaba said...

Don't get crazy. I said the poem was fantastic (which it is), but a Reogan fansite? Really?

Reogan said...

Your right, we can just change this blog into 'A Rather Pleasant Site About Reogan'

Met said...

Over my dead body, and yours of course.

Reogan said...

Your death can be arranged.

Easily.

Elphaba said...

I happen to agree with Met. And I doubt my death can be arranged very easily--I know you too well. However, YOUR death is a different story...
MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Just kidding, Reogan; you make me laugh too much--I don't want to kill you. Probably.)

Reogan said...

Of course I couldn't arrange your death!

Yet.

Elphaba said...

You forgot the evil laugh.
MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reogan said...

But I'm not evil! Everyone else just has a skewed sense of morality. Duh.

Elphaba said...

"I'm not crazy! Everyone else is!" said the man in the high-security straitjacket.

Reogan said...

You were saw me then? I knew they had a spy!

Elphaba said...

*heavy sarcasm* Yes, Reogan, I have spies in various straitjackets around the country. *end sarcasm* Contrary to what you may believe, I do not have mob contacts/spies. Probably...

Met said...

The ironic thing for me in that last comment is that I can hear you saying exactly that in real life, especially the sarcastic part.

Elphaba said...

Huh. No offense, but that's slightly creepy, because I'm not quite sure who you are... Do I know you? Or, for that matter, do you know me?

Reogan said...

Met knows all and sees all. That's why he's survived around me so long.

Met said...

I'd like to think that myself, but I don't think I know as much as Reogan seems to think. I just balance my decision making skills, sometimes I get it right, sometimes I get it wrong, but I'm still here so that has to say something about something and to answer Elphaba's questions, yes you know me somewhat, and yes I know you somewhat, enough to say that again that post sounds exactly like something you'd say in real life.

Reogan said...

O Rly?

Elphaba said...

Wow... that makes me wonder... Now I'm EXTREMELY curious, and I wonder if you're somebody really obvious that I'm just not thinking of... Grrr, this is gonna drive me crazy!

Reogan said...

Good! You've always been a bit out of place due to your sanity. Now you'll really fit in.

And Met? Don't even try to claim sanity. You aren't fooling anyone.

Elphaba said...

I sing show tunes in foreign languages and think it's fun to have a huge makeup scar on the left half of my face onstage, and you think I'm sane?

Met said...

Alright, instead of claiming sanity I'll ask you what sanity is? Or, if I'm insane, you're insane, and we're all insane, who are we to talk about sanity? In fact, how are we to know the difference? This is all just theory! And to Elphaba, if it helps... I never really thought you were completely sane either, considering that I'm insane, but once again you read the top section and that entire comment loses meaning! I love to spin myself and others in circles.

Elphaba said...

You sounded a lot like Gregory Maguire there; just thought I'd point that out.

And I'm glad you enjoy spinning yourself and others in circles, because that makes me think--usually a good thing.

Reogan said...

Sanity is how humans are supposed to function. We defy the norm, thus we are insane.

And I can speak of such things because, though insane, I'm educatified.

Met said...

I agree with Reogan there and I'm also probably spinning in circles because I just finished watching Before I Sleep, a Stargate Atlantis episode involving time travel (http://stargate.wikia.com/wiki/Before_I_Sleep).

Reogan said...

He's referencing Stargate! Duck and cover!

Reogan said...

Hey! That's the only episode I've seen!

Met said...

Talk about irony, can't say I saw that one coming.

Reogan said...

Neither did I.

Elphaba said...

Yes, Reogan, I agree. But what's Stargate?

Reogan said...

O_O

Met said...

*faceplant*

Elphaba said...

Apparently, I said something wrong. I don't know what, though... Seriously, what is it?

Reogan said...

Met? You wanna take this?

Met said...

I guess I have to. So do you want to know what is a Stargate? Or what is Stargate? If you desire the second option, please select one.

Elphaba said...

I didn't know I had a choice. The second one, I guess.

Met said...

Which Stargate?

Elphaba said...

I don't know, I didn't know there was more than one. I'm confused...

Met said...

Elphaba said...

Thank you.

Reogan said...

You're welcome.

Met said...

*sigh* you're welcome... WAIT I feel another refrence coming on...
