Jokes

"It's just a joke!"
She said,

"No need to get
Upset about it"

So I smile,

And laugh along.

But secretly

I know

Laughing won't

Bring back

My arm.

Reogan, I have to wonder where you get the ideas for these "Thursday Thoughts". Honestly, trying to understand your mind is extremely difficult (the understatement of the year).

Reogan said...

I am inspired by real life events.

Met said...

Understanding his mind is actually easier than most.

Reogan said...

You cannot comprehend the twisted workings of my mind, Met, and you never will!

Met said...

I can't comprehend, but neither can you.

Reogan said...

I never claimed to.

Met said...

I know, I'm just leveling the playing field for any observers.

Reogan said...

Good for you.

Met said...

Yes good for me, that is why I stated it :)

Reogan said...

I feel like I blundered into some pitfall during our discourse that allowed you to come up with such a retort, but I can't tell where exactly I strayed.

Qupar said...

Don't worry I definitely believe it was from a real life event, and for good reason

Reogan said...

How are the skin grafts coming along, by the way?

Elphaba said...

Good grief.

Met said...

That's my line...

Charlie Brown said...

Actually, it belongs to me.

Charles M. Schulz said...

Not exactly...

Charlie Brown said...

You're dead, old man. You have no power on this plane!

Charles M. Schulz said...

I created you, and even in death I can destroy you!

Elphaba said...

Okay, let's end the fight between a cartoon character and his creator... Even though I'm totally a Peanuts fan.

Elphaba said...

Btw, Met, your line is "*sigh*". Remember?

Met said...

Actually I'm known for both, but it depends how well you know me...

Elphaba said...

Must you bring that up again?!?!? At this point, I'm really not even trying. I'm fairly content to let you remain anonymous. If you ever change your mind, however, don't hesitate to tell me. :) Eventually, I'll find out.

Met said...

Actually that's the idea and honestly I don't plan on being anonymous forever. There is a plan in motion... Right now I'm just enjoying myself, if you knew me you'd realize that it's not often that I get to have this much fun. Oh, and when you say trying; pressuring the heck out of the people that know me while I remain hidden isn't really trying, you should do your own research if the direct approach isn't working. While your more... noticeable attempts occurred back in October, I recommend you do some serious investigation into who you can trust and what exactly is truth and lies. You should take a psych class and shake your irrational fear of stalkers... Still, I hope we do get along better when you find out though...

Reogan said...

Hey, I'm supposed to be the creepy one here...

Elphaba said...

Wow. You know WAY more about me than I thought at first... Hmm. I am working on something else, but I doubt it'll work too well.
But who knows? Maybe I'm the one messing with you! Maybe I already know who you are, and I'm just acting like I don't to see how long it'll last!

Elphaba said...

And don't worry, Reogan. Your title is preserved; you're still the creepy one.

Met said...

Let me respond to individual sections on your previous post Elphaba...

"Wow. You know WAY more about me than I thought at first..."

Thank you, it pays to have the right connections.

"Hmm. I am working on something else, but I doubt it'll work too well."

This interests me. I want to see what you come up with. I still don't know you as well as I'd like to so I could always use some more stuff to add to your psych profile...

"But who knows? Maybe I'm the one messing with you! Maybe I already know who you are, and I'm just acting like I don't to see how long it'll last!"

This is the kind of second guessing that kills operations like the one I'm running and obviously you know this. Good luck messing with me, I'm too well informed to accept that you already know at this point. If you want to end this in a way that does not satisfy me, you need to break down and kill my intelligence network and then come after me before I know what's happening. That I would not like. I'm interested to see what you come up with though.

Met said...

Of course Reogan's title is preserved. He's always been the creepy one.

Elphaba said...

Yeah, that last part was a sad attempt at reverse psychology. Oh, well.

And you probably won't be able to find out what I'm attempting next. If you do, I'm calling the police and getting a restraining order, because you would be stalking me. ;P

Elphaba said...

By the way, what do you mean by your "intelligence network"?

Met said...

A vast network that appraises me of the ever changing situation.

It wouldn't be very... what's the term, covert? if I told you what the network specifically was, now would it?
I prefer to keep my specific operations classified.

Anonymous said...

and i am a part of that network...is the haze starting to clear up yet?

Arkive said...

Met is dead on, be careful Elphaba...

Met said...

I appreciate my friends in the intelligence business and their reliability. I hope this hasn't damaged your trust in me... Don't worry Elphaba, we're not completely serious... yet. Remember, I just want to enjoy this as much as possible while it lasts.

Elphaba said...

Okay, now I'm starting to get a little disturbed... I don't even have a clue who you two are! (Although, there is no evidence that you know who I am, so that's a comfort.) Very smart, though, making your profiles private. (Figures.)

But I'll find out. Eventually. Whether through my own methods or you and Reogan taking pity on me.

Met said...

Alright, I'll break your last post into sections so I can comment...

"Okay, now I'm starting to get a little disturbed..."

Funny, I was sort of surprised myself that some responded so quickly to a request to demonstrate a "network".

"I don't even have a clue who you two are!"

That's the idea.

"(Although, there is no evidence that you know who I am, so that's a comfort.)"

Yes it is, I could be calling in favors just to creep you out, so nice call, but I never said I was bluffing.

"Very smart, though, making your profiles private. (Figures.)"

They already were private, I'm really the only traceable person for the time being while my... agents? prefer the background. Again, I was impressed at the speed in which they commented, you don't see them blog every day.

"But I'll find out. Eventually. Whether through my own methods"

That's the spirit!

"or you and Reogan taking pity on me."

Pathetic AF, absolutely pathetic, you ruined the good run you had with me. You're certainly capable of figuring this out on your own. Oh, and one more thing that might reassure you that I have... people loyal to me around you, I quote...
"Don't be too proud, there's always someone who can scare the crap out of you,"
-Elphaba 11/19/09
One of my associates that overheard this probably considered it was in regards to me in someway and figured I might be interested in knowing you said this. While I consider this a... possibly vague reference to our relationship, don't worry because you're not proud and I'm not...
...
okay, never mind about that ;) Still, it's not all me, your "irrational fear of stalkers" helps, does it not? Plus you now have a room full of 16 people in which you know one of them knows me. It should help a little, although you may already know the one who knows me. Overall I'm inclined to think that this experience may make you one of the best authors on the blog. It all depends on what you do with the situation...

Mirliton: I recognize your picture, and I like it. :)

Anyway, Met, I'm aware I have the capacity to figure this out for myself. Otherwise, why would you, Reogan, and the unnamed third party even bother with this? I was just wondering, if it takes me long enough, you two will get impatient. (Although I realize that's fairly unlikely).

It took me a bit to figure out where you got that quote from, but I got it--eventually. And yes, I do know "the one who knows you", but this certainly helps me with what I've been doing for the past couple of days.

And if you think for a little bit, you may be able to figure out what method I'm using now. Then again, maybe not--I don't know how much Reogan is telling you, although I would assume it would be as much as he can remember. But we'll see how this all ends up.

And I absolutely will NOT quit!

Unnamed third party? As far as I'm concerned I'm a direct link to Met. I'm loyal to him.

Met said...

Again I'll break it into sections...

Mirliton: I recognize your picture, and I like it. :)

Yeah, I thought that was pretty cool as well.

Anyway, Met, I'm aware I have the capacity to figure this out for myself. Otherwise, why would you, Reogan, and the unnamed third party even bother with this?

I agree with Arkive's comment here. I want to make this interesting, not just entertaining, which is why I keep throwing in encouragement. Sorry if I sounded patronizing.

I was just wondering, if it takes me long enough, you two will get impatient. (Although I realize that's fairly unlikely).

Actually I sort of want to be the one to reveal this to you, but it'll certainly score a few points with me if you do it on your own. It won't be as... entertaining though if you figure it out before we inform you.

It took me a bit to figure out where you got that quote from, but I got it--eventually. And yes, I do know "the one who knows you", but this certainly helps me with what I've been doing for the past couple of days.

I'm glad we were able to help, however like I mentioned above, the less help you get from us the better, so figure this out fast before we give you more help if you really want to impress me. I'm not sure the "one who knows you" is the one you think it is, but what do I know?

And if you think for a little bit, you may be able to figure out what method I'm using now.

I do a lot of thinking, I haven't come up with anything yet method wise, which is disturbing to me because as I well know the moment you think you have things under control is when something is wrong. You're starting to hit the attitude that I've been trying to get you into, but of course this worries me because I've made it all the more interesting.

Then again, maybe not--I don't know how much Reogan is telling you, although I would assume it would be as much as he can remember.

I'd like to see Reogan comment on this himself, but I think your assumption is wise.

But we'll see how this all ends up.

Yeah, it'll certainly be interesting.

And I absolutely will NOT quit!

Good, that's the spirit that you should have all the time and it's the spirit that worries me the most, because now you've got things under your control finally it seems. This has become interesting indeed...

Arkive: You weren't the "third party" I was referring to.

Met: You don't sound patronizing at all. Slightly frustrating, maybe, but not patronizing.

I am far from having things "under control"; I'm simply using a certain method--one that, at the moment, I am using alone--to narrow down possibilities.

I have a few theories as to who (whom?) you might be, and I am leaning towards one of them more than the other, but for now, they are remaining secrets. I have to maintain some of them, otherwise I feel like a complete pawn.

(Although I suspect that I already am a bit of one, which bothers me more than I'd like to admit.)

My responses once again...

Arkive: You weren't the "third party" I was referring to.

What is the third party you're referring to?

Met: You don't sound patronizing at all. Slightly frustrating, maybe, but not patronizing.

:) I hear about this, but hey, failure is good. You shouldn't be afraid to face the politically incorrect term of "no". It's a good experience for you. I wonder what I would do if someone did this to me.

I am far from having things "under control"; I'm simply using a certain method--one that, at the moment, I am using alone--to narrow down possibilities.

No one ever has anything "under control" sorry if I accidentally gave the impression that someone did have something under control. In either case whatever you're doing you should keep doing. I like your attitude.

I have a few theories as to who (whom?)

whom? nice, what if I am more then one person? What if I'm an entity that is merely the combination of several people. What if I'm just one person? Could I really come up with all this? What do I really have under my influence? Am I lying? Am I holding to my word? Can you trust me? Who am I? Who are you? Why? anyway... back to my responses...

you might be, and I am leaning towards one of them more than the other,

Dangerous that is... for the both of us. Still, I like the effort you're starting to put into the solo work.

but for now, they are remaining secrets. I have to maintain some of them, otherwise I feel like a complete pawn.

Curiosity killed the cat... ugh

(Although I suspect that I already am a bit of one, which bothers me more than I'd like to admit.)

Actually I hold you in high regard and I don't like to treat you as a pawn. I'm simply attempting to manipulate circumstances and no matter how you come through this I don't want you to think that I treat you as a pawn. In fact I hope that we might even be able to come through this as friends, although I admit this is a weird way to start a friendship...

The third party I was referring to was the person you got the quote from. Now that I think about it, Arkive may well be that person--that's something that hadn't crossed my mind before.

I like some of the questions you asked, although I have thought about them. Frankly, I do trust you. I'm not sure where that trust came from; however, it's there. And I have no doubt that a single person could come up with this--there are no rules or limits when it comes to the human mind.

Don't worry, I don't feel very much like a pawn most of the time. (I think part of it is that I've seen too many episodes of Criminal Minds.) Plus, weird beginnings to friendships are fun--both parties get at least one interesting story to tell! :)

Interesting analysis.

I like some of the questions you asked, although I have thought about them.

Thank you, and good. They are questions we often must ask every day for the sake of perspective.

Frankly, I do trust you. I'm not sure where that trust came from; however, it's there.

And I have no doubt that a single person could come up with this--there are no rules or limits when it comes to the human mind.

If there are would we be able to comprehend them? Good analysis.

Don't worry, I don't feel very much like a pawn most of the time.

That's good, because you are never a pawn.

(I think part of it is that I've seen too many episodes of Criminal Minds.)

Never seen that.

Plus, weird beginnings to friendships are fun--both parties get at least one interesting story to tell! :)

I'm glad you think so. This is interesting indeed.

Elphaba said...

Huh. I'm having the strongest sense of deja vu... No idea why, though. And I agree, this is very interesting.

You totally should watch Criminal Minds. In my opinion, it's the best show EVER!!!!!!!!!! Reogan knows about my obsession already, and so do various other people. It's borderline disturbing, but the show is AWESOME, so it's not to hard to get addicted. Besides, obsessions are what make life fun! :)

Qupar said...

Elphaba, I have no clue if you will read this because i haven't checked the blog in forever, but one way to find out would be to invite Reogan to your abode, put some sleep powder in a glass of water and give it to him, wait until he is in the 4th stage of sleep, carefully "wake" him so he is sleep walking and sleep talking, and then ask him, it could very well work, maybe you shouldn't though, I don't know if it's legal

Reogan said...

...

Elphaba said...

One of the best ideas so far, Johann, but you're right--I doubt that's legal. Plus that would be kind of awkward.

However, Reogan... test the things you drink. You've already suspected me of putting stuff in your food once. While I protested my innocence on that count (and I still do), be careful... ;)

Nah, I'm just kidding. You can get kind of paranoid, and it's kind of fun to mess with that a little. Hopefully, I don't unhinge you TOO much.

Reogan said...

There were never any hinges.

Elphaba said...

So, so true. :P jk.

You beat me to it Arkive. Let us see where this goes.

My anticipation just jumped up a notch. Don't disappoint me Elphaba...

Elphaba said...

No offense, but I don't really care all that much. Now, if either of you start commenting on MY blog, that would be a different issue. However, I really don't have the time for this right now (nor the physical health to spend that much time in my basement doing Internet research). Hate to disappoint, Met!
